A 24-year old has been arrested by Kohima police for duping people with promise of jobs in police department. The arrested person has been identified as Ravozo Medeo, a resident of Mission Compound, Kohima, PRO, DEF Kohima said in a statement.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused issued fake appointment letters with forged signatures of certain high ranking officer at PHQ and that of SP of a district. In this connection, a case was registered at North Police Station and further investigation is on. Meanwhile, Kohima Police has appealed to all the citizens to be cautious of such frauds and to report to the police to initiate necessary criminal proceedings.
